There is a glitch: When I move forward and left, I cannot jump. Will you please fix this?

Try moving with the WASD keys instead of the arrow keys.

It occurs when I use the arrow keys also.

I mean WASD

Huh. That's very odd. The glitch doesn't happen to me, so I'm not sure why that's happening. Sorry. :/

the only game on itch io that is on scratch other then bitlandia i guees

this game was so epic that it appeared on unblocked games. you are not a true game dev until your game appeares on unblocked games. =:)

also your games are really good.

I REMEMBER YOU FROM SCRATCH!!! its so nice to know that you haven't entirely quit game making.

i completed this game it was very good (and even tiring!!!)

Thank you! :)

this game is fun I played the demo on scratch as well

I think You should ask nintendo if they can add your super mario for scratch games on the switch Eshop, Brad! I think it will be cool!

Plus, the games have a good moveset for switch, and smfs 3 can use the switch touch screen for anyone who's lost their joy cons

that is a good idea

um-

Your demo just went on trending O:

demo was in 2D

there is a bug where when you gum off of this elevated square thing in a specific direction you stand on an invisible wall. might want to make the borders a little taller!

What did you use to make the soundtrack

I used a program called Beepbox.

ROLLING THE BOLDER IS A HUGE PAIN IN THE BUTT

Yes, I apologize for that level. xD There won't be anything like that in the sequel, don't worry.

my henchman the fingermonster will turn u into Bébéhard

Sweet graphics, but I fail to jump on the moving platform.  Worked in Edge, not in Brave.

phrog

like the game! good job

What an awesome game! Best frog game I've played in fat minute!

This is a very fun platformer. I like the level design a lot, but sometimes the camera makes enemies hard to see.

uwu so innocent

I DEFEATED! This was very fun thank you for making it!

At least it doesn't cost money lol

Ok, this is actually the perfect game to make a horror game, make a horror version of this game and it will be absolutely amazing. Anyways this is a fun game!

so sweet

Love the game! The one criticism I have is that the player feels disconnected from the world. A couple ways to remedy this would be:

  • Increase the line shader thickness to match the line weight of the character (maybe only a little thinner to keep it in the background)
  • The animations currently feel a little clunky, If you look closely at paper Mario you'll notice that the character animations have few frames, but the sprites themselves are moved smoothly. Stretching, squshing, and rotating the player sprite are great ways to make the character animations smoother while still maintaining that funky paper Mario look.
  • Give the player a shadow to attach them to the ground and help with judging jump height.
  • Raise the camera angle so its easier to see where you are jumping to.

Hope this helps!

Forgot one; getting hit by enemies should have some kind of animation or effect

This game is really cool, congrats

Nice little game! Cute and colorful. The Paper Mario-style arts really well made. Good job!

*Remember that when writing this review I have only beaten lvl1, and looked around a bit in lvl2*

Hi brad :) From the first physics impressions, jump and controls are ok, but when you walk of platforms it teleports you to the ground instead of normal falling, idk why.

The frog also doesn't have straight forward and straight backward animation. And I think that  at the end of lvl 1 you can see the grass square end and skybox too well.

Graphics are good, just the lvl1 background grass seems too pixelated.

Music is very appealing and fitting.

5 levels is fine content. I think the game only misses collectables - hidden and not hidden. And with them it would be perfect content.

Overall pretty good work ;)

Thanks for the feedback! The animations for walking were actually supposed to be straight from Paper Mario, so I intended for it to look that way. As for everything else you mentioned, I'll be sure to keep that in mind for future games! :)

Ok :)

There should be a mac download.

EY YOU, REMEMBER ME? YOU REACTED TO MY COMMENT ON SCRATCH.
(Love the game btw)

(+1)

I'm shocked that you could create this in a WEEK

(+1)

He can make a 2D platformer without a built in physics engine, so creating a 3d platform with one should be a piece of cake
